The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber
of Commerce is putting together a directory of
yard sales in the community for the weekend of
May 17th and 18th.

sale listed in the directory. It’s time
to clear out all the things we no longer use and
recycle them by way of our annual Community Wide
Yard Sale. Thinking “green” is not
a new concept to us, we’ve been recycling
for years and this is one of the most fun ways
we do it!

weather was actually pretty fair on April 19th,
2008, where around 60 people gathered in the back
half of the Ogdensburg Bowling Alley to watch
and hear some music. I can proudly say I was one
of the many who left completely blown away. The

War II show rescheduled
“Past
Forgetting,” the musical revue offering
multimedia memories of World War II, has been
rescheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, June
7, in Canton’s Hugh C. Williams
High School on State Street. Bad weather forced
cancellation of the show, originally set for March
8. The show is a fundraiser for the St. Lawrence
County Historical Association.Tickets purchased
for March 8 will be honored on June 7. Likewise,
veterans of World War II who reserved free tickets
for March 8 will be able to use those tickets
on June 7. WWII veterans’ free tickets and
presale tickets are available at the Silas Wright
House, 3 E. Main St., Canton, and at the door
the night of the show. Tickets are $10 for adults
and $5 for children. Sponsor for the show is Edward
C. Seymour Post 1231 Veterans of Foreign Wars,
Gouverneur Street, Canton.

The St. Lawrence County Arts
Council presents Live Music Fridays! featuring
"The Starlights" on Friday,
May 16 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. With
Dan Pearson and Gary Brothers on guitar, Jim Fitzgerald
on keyboard, and Mary Fishbeck and Wanda Livingston
singing, "The Starlights" bring back
the good ol' days, from the 1920s on - Glenn Miller
tunes, Old time Rock and Roll, Country and Gospel.
Live Music Fridays! is a showcase of local musicians
and performers presented at the SLC Arts Council,
51 Market Street in Potsdam. All are welcome to
attend, and the location is wheelchair accessible.

TIME AND TALENT AUCTION
First Presbyterian Church on
the Park, Canton, will hold a Time and Talent
Auction on Sunday,
June 1, in the Fellowship Hall
immediately after church, 11:30 AM. Come to church
(or not), enjoy soup and sandwiches and Roger
Huntley auctioning the many jobs, chores, talents
and fun-to- do times members of the congregation
are offering to the highest bidders. Eight ladies
from Watertown and the Canton Presbyterian Church
are headed to Malawi in July. Funds raised by
the auction will provide shallow wells, building
materials, school fees, fertilizer, and legal
advocacy to name a few of the things needed for
widows and children in that country. |
