North Country Goes Green Irish Festival and Disabled Persons Action

Organization present Cherish The Ladies, Wednesday, March 4th at

7 p.m. at the Dulles State Office Building in watertown.

Tickets are on sale at the watertown Kinney Drugs Stores or by

calling DPAO at 782-0044. Your $20 ticket to the concert is also good

for admission to the 30th Annual North Country Goes Green Irish

Festival for the day of your choice. This year's Irish Festival runs from

Friday, March 13th through Sunday, March 15th.

Taking their name from the name of a traditional Irish Jig, Cherish The Ladies has grown from a one-time concert concept to an Irish traditional music sensation. The group initially won recognition as the first and only all-women traditional Irish Band, but their unique blend of virtuosi instrumental talents, beautiful vocals, captivating arrangements and stunning step dancing, continues to set them apart.

Their ability to wrap traditional Irish culture into an immensely humorous and entertaining package, has received recognition worldwide. Celtic Album, their collaboration with the Boston Pops Symphony, led to a 1999 GRAMMY nomination. They have also been named Best Musical Group of the Year by the BBC and Entertainment Group of the Year by the Irish Voice Newspaper.

The Ladies have recorded ten highly acclaimed albums, including their Holiday Album On Christmas Night which was chosen as one of the top

Christmas Albums of the Year by The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Village Voice, among others. They have also appeared on CBS This Morning, Good Morning America, PBS, BBC and NPR.
