Saranac Lake's Third Thursday Art Walks

Saranac Lake's Third Thursday Art Walks 2015 Concludes Sept 17th

The 17th annual Saranac Lake's Third Thursday Art Walks continues Thursday evening. The village, downtown businesses, nonprofits and galleries will host the talents of regional and local artists and musicians of various genres from 5:00 to 7:30pm.

On a self-guided tour through downtown Saranac Lake, Art Walkers can go to any participating venue, pick up a map/schedule and experience the work of established artists and emerging talents from all over the North Country. One may start the Walk at any of the 25+ venues, each marked with a colorful balloon.

The highlights for this month are Anastasia Osolin (ARTIST) and Colleen O'Neill (PHOTOGRAPHER) on Main Street. Anastasia is a conservation bookbinder and certified yoga instructor. However, she also makes fascinating two or three- dimensional art pieces using found objects. Colleen is a passionate outdoor enthusiast and has been a faithful participant of all the Art Walks this summer. Please take some time to explore their art work and talk to both of these amazing women. They will be on Main Street.

Participating for the first time this season is Mary Woodcock Johnson. Mary will be showing her work at Spectrum Fine arts Studio and Gallery on Academy St. Also new this month is "Divinity" a juried show, sponsored by Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. This show can be seen at the Methodist Church on the corner of Church St and St Bernards St.

Be sure to visit the many Galleries Saranac Lake has to offer. At The Adirondack Artists Guild is "Re Imagine" Drawings and Mixed Media Images by Suzanne Langelier-Lebeda. NorthWind Fine arts Gallery is featuring Cat Micheels and Cathy Hartung with "The Other Eye".

Cape Air is host to The ArtWorks Artists. Stop by the gallery and enter the RAFFLE for 2 FREE Cape Air Tickets.

Margaret Champion is showing her work at Hitchcock Pop-Up Gallery on Broadway. Bluseed Studios, on Cedar St., is proud to present a unique new art exhibition, "1000 Postcards to Vermontville," featuring individually hand-made postcards utilizing hardcover book covers, acrylic, water color, collage, found objects, etc., and sent through the US mail by Artist Travis Jeffrey. Opening Reception: Thursday, September 17th, 5-7pm Free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

We are happy to welcome back The Adirondack Barbershop Coalition, Bob "Bo Jest the Kosmic Konjuror" Seidenstein, Rising Tide Review and many other participants.

Get dinner or a drink at one of the local restaurants including Blue Moon Café, Downhill Grill and Left Bank Café. So come and enjoy the evening.
