The John McNutt Band

Mark the date on your calendar: April 21st, 2018, at precisely 9:30 p.m. That's the date and time that The John McNutt Band will take the stage at McDuff's Pub on Market Street in downtown Potsdam.

John McNutt is an enthusiastic Rock and Roll veteran, having played with numerous big name bands and performers, including recent shows with Michael Allman (son of Greg). McNutt has toured internationally, and played lead guitar for several years with the British post-punk band Spear of Destiny, which featured controversial singer Kirk Brandon.

A powerhouse rock guitarist (and spirited vocalist), McNutt knows well the value of selective sonic discord, as his leads tend to be dirty and slashing, albeit tasty. In concert, he plays some of his own material, but generally sticks to inspired covers of The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Beatles, Steppenwolf, and other rock classics.

Readers may remember last April, when McNutt teamed with Derek Forbes, acclaimed Scottish bassist from Simple Minds, and together they played to a full house at McDuff's. Both that show and the current one are benefit performances for Blueline, the literary magazine published annually by the Department of English and Communication at SUNY Potsdam. You must be at least 21 years of age and able to pay McDuff's $5.00 cover charge. McNutt and his bandmates-Tim McKinstry (keyboards) and Marc Iezzi (drums)-call Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, home. Don't miss this show. These guys will rock you into the other side of midnight.
