Keith Brabant

It's about music, it's about family, it's about community, and it's about fun!

"The only thing that I want to happen is for the music to get created," is a quote from a letter written by Keith Brabant to his mother, Melody shortly before he died in April 2010. Since that time Keith's family, friends, and the Clayton community have come together to celebrate his life and passions in the form of KeithFest, an annual music festival, with all proceeds funding the Keith Brabant Music Scholarship Fund. The scholarship funds are available to anyone in Jefferson County from age 5 to 25 who demonstrates musical interest and financial need.

This year's Scholarship winners are:

• Collin Vodicka, General Brown High School, to attend a SUNY Fredonia music camp, $650.

• Taylor Rodriguez, Alexandria Central School, toward the purchase of a soprano Saxophone, $1000.

• Meganne Brenon, General Brown High School, to attend Ithaca College music camp and/or receive voice and piano lessons, $1000.

Clown, the ever popular children's craft area and instrument petting zoo, a large bouncy house, a huge blow up slide, pony rides, face painting, animal petting zoo, and The Fragile Planet Wildlife Center will also be returning this year.
