OGDENSBURG, NY - The Frederic Remington Art Museum is making a change from its longstanding Remington Gala. The new Harvest Moon event, a big fundraiser, will be Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 7 to 11pm.

Dana McCormick created this illustration for the Remington's upcoming Harvest Moon event using Adobe Photoshop and Easy PaintTool SAI. Dana is a student at Ogdensburg Free Academy and is in an independent study with teacher Dianne Drayse Alonso. Dana will be a senior next year and will be attending Pratt Art Institutes' pre-college summer program in Utica this summer.

The organizing committee has lowered the price and put it earlier in the year to attract a larger and more diverse audience. The cost to attend the Harvest Moon is $40 member/$45 non-member. Sign up early to receive $5 off. The Harvest Moon Committee hopes the change will be convenient for many as well as provide a refreshing new start.

Music will be provided by DJ Big B's Beats and by Lester Gates, portraits available by Wendy June Photography. There will also be a cash bar, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction, and much more.

The funds raised from Harvest Moon and its silent auction are vital to the museum's work of preserving, exhibiting and interpreting the art and archives of Frederic Remington, and to providing educational tours, hands-on art experiences, and other great experiences for children and their families at Kid's Place, the museum's education center.

The Museum is open October 15 through May 15, Wednesday through Saturday, 11 am to 5 pm and Sunday, 1 to 5 pm and May 16 through October 14, Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday, 1 to 5 pm.
