Mattoon Creek

The group is well known for Folk music using guitars, fiddle, bass, vocal harmonies. They have played festivals, fairs, and for senior groups throughout the North Country. The group includes Dora McAdam, Clem McAdam, Matt McAdam, Becky McAdam Simmons, and Mark McAdam. This group, called 'Matune Creek', was inspired by the real Mattoon Creek, a tributary to the great Oswegatchie River in Gouverneur , NY.

Clem McAdam, a Gouverneur native, sings and plays mandolin, guitar, and harmonica. Dora McAdam, a long-time member of The Band, sings and plays guitar. Matt McAdam of Richville, NY, plays the upright bass and sings.

Becky McAdam Simmons of Gouverneur, the newest member, plays the fiddle and sings. Mark McAdam of Heuvelton, NY sings and plays guitar and harmonica, and serves as the MC.

This performance is part of the Russell Theater 2015 Season. At the Russell Opera House your admission is your donation to the house to help us with our restoration and to support the performers. Light refreshments will be served. 50-50 Raffle. Located in the Russell Town Hall, the theater has a series of concerts and productions throughout the summer & fall.
