Clayton Country Jam

It's almost that time again in the Thousand Islands for what has turned into a true marquee event, the 6th Annual Clayton Country Jam, September 9th, 10th & 11th. This year brings a new locale for all the festivities, but more of what past attendees have come to expect each and every year. Great fun and plenty of country music! When it was looking for a venue after last years big show TI Winery owner Steve Conaway, retired U.S. Army Major who was awarded the Bronze Star, didn't hesitate to open up his venue in a major way and welcomed the Country Jam. The momentum builds once again this year with the help of sponsors; Bud Light, U.S Air Force, Otis Technology, Swan Bay Resorts, realty USA, FK Gailey and the watertown International Airport. This years Media Sponsor include; Stephens Media group, WWNY/WNYF, Newzjunky, Watertown Daily Times & Horizon Aerial Media.

With the help of these sponsors not only has organizer Mac MacFarlane arranged a fantastic 3 day line-up for the show, he's also been able to arrange for our troops around the world to view the 9/11 performance. Again this year the American Forces Network will broadcast an hour of this special 9/11 show to an estimated 500,000 troops stationed overseas. With their satellite feed the Clayton Country Jam will be transmitted to 174 territories on U.S. Military installations including U.S. Bases, U.S. Consulate and U.S. Embassy compounds overseas along with more than 140 U.S. Naval Ships at sea.

This year the Country Jam kicks off with a familiar face on September 9th as the "Cookin' Comedian" Vic Clevenger returns with his southern boy humor and charm. Born in Kentucky and now living in Florida with his wife and two daughters, Vic can spin everyday life and news into something funny. If you like Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy and comedians like them. Then you'll get a big kick out of Vic! He's had a whole year of dealing with his two daughters, adding BBQ-ing to life and just the craziness of life to bring some funny material to the Friday night comedy show.

Night two on September 10th promises to be fun night with a nice line-up of artists; The Waydown Wailers with a hard to define sound because they really have made their own kind of music over the past couple of years. If you like Southern Country Rock or jam bands you will love these guys, their version of Suzie Q is just fantastic and one of my favorite country originals is Whiskey & Cornbread which is charting on the country charts. Matt Chase & Thunder Canyon have been playing country music around NY and entertaining crowds for over 20 years now and will bring their fun & engaging show to Friday night's show. For country fans who love newer artists with a traditional feel James Robert Webb is your guy. His song Daddy Made A Million struck a chord with radio listener he's become a favorite around the North Country and making his mark in Nashville with his new album Pictures. Florida born country-rocker Rick Monroe will bring his fun party style show to the stage Saturday night as well with song great country songs from his EP, It's A Love Thing including the fan favorite Great Minds Drink Alike! And rounding out the night is the uber successful Erica Nicole! After 3 big hits on the MusicRow Chart Erica just inked a deal with RLS in Nashville, a part of the Reviver Records family which is home to LOCASH as well. She is a powerhouse on stage and will deliver an amazing performance to round out the night with her big songs like I Listen To My Bad Girl, It's Comin' Down, I'm Making Mine and so many other great songs. It's going to full night of amazing performance and great music that will leave you wanting more.

The Final and BIG night is Sunday September 11th, part of which will be stream worldwide once again for our troops. Starting off the night will be Country Jam staples and favorites Hotel California. They travel the world recreating the music of the Eagles and are the best in the business! If you love the Eagles, these guys are the next best thing. American Idol alum Sarah Ross will bring her county/rap influences to the stage. After her stint on the singing show took her to Hollywood Sarah was signed to Average Joe Entertainment where she's been honing her craft and working with artists like Colt Ford, the Lacs and others. Get ready to for the Trailer Choir to pop it Off The Hillbilly Hook when they hit the stage! Butter & Vinny will bring their good time country beats to the Clayton Country Jam for you including their new summer song Ice Cold Summer. And the treat of the night will be headliner and country music legend John Anderson! With a catalogue of hits from Swingin', Black Sheep, I'm Just An Chunk of Coal to Money In The Bank, Seminole Wind, Straight Tequila Night and so many more it's going to be a truly special evening filled with amazing country music from one of the best country singers to ever strap on a guitar and stand behind the microphone.

In addition to this special 9/11 performance, five more hours of the 6th Annual Clayton Country Jam will be streamed online for those unable to make it to the TI Winery. Look for the stream on provided once again by Steve Weed Productions. 100% of all donations generated from views of this stream will go directly to the USO, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening America's military by connecting them to their family, home and country, throughout their service.
