‘’Tis the season, as they say, so without delay, here are my top 10 games and accessories for that special gamer in your life.

10) 4K LED TV - Look for fast refresh rates ((less than 40ms) and a brightness of around 1000 nits. A fast, bright 4K TV is every console gamers dream, is it time to upgrade your Plasma?

9) iPad Pro 9.7” /w 256gb storage. Great for iOS gaming, with a special shout out to Blizzard’s Hearthstone, Baldur’s Gate, and Infinity Blade.

8) Alienware Gaming Computer - Don’t skimp on parts, especially the video card. Search the web for ”VR Ready Computer Specs.” All the new VR gaming options out there need a solid pony in the stable. You might get away with upgrading, but be careful, the new VR setups need a lot.

7) Xbox One S - Now with 2TB of storage and HDR/4K support. ‘Nuf said.

6) PlayStation VR - While not as powerful as the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, it is designed for extended gaming, and is much more comfortable.

5) Batman Arkham VR - I. Am. Batman. And you can be too. A can't miss if you have the PS VR.

4) Dead Rising 4 - Rompy zombie killing action with a creative flare, the Dead Rising series is one of my favorites. Swap with COD Infinite Warfare or Battlefield 1 for gamers more invested in these franchises.

3) A deck of playing cards - Whaaaaaat? Yup, for 2 bucks you can get a new set of cards. Do some Googling and learn some new games. What better way to engage with those around you over the holidays. My personal recommendations: Texas Hold ‘Em, Pitch, and Euchre. Splurge for a new set of poker chips if you like.

2) Oculus Rift VR headset - A truly unbelievable piece of hardware. The image is the best out there. Controllers will be out 1st quarter 2017, until then it will remain #2, just behind:

1) The HTC Vive VR headset with controllers - The controllers make all the difference in the world. Whether you are shooting a bow and arrow, lobbing a grenade, immersed In Google Earth VR, or 3D painting with Tilt Brush, the experience is truly transformational.

Now go out there and get your jolly on.
