Musical Director and CEO Don P. Roberts was inspired by the hit 2002 movie Drumline starring Nick Cannon and Orlando Jones. Roberts adapted The Band's original outdoor show to thrill audiences with a new version, to be performed live on stage. DRUMLINE Live presents the sounds of the great brass past side-by-side with the hottest contemporary hip-hop and R&B. "I guarantee people have never seen a show like this before," say Roberts. "The cast of musicians and singers, led by an all-star group of percussionists, will perform extraordinary choreography that will have the audience on their feet, and dancing in the aisles, throughout the entire show!"

Mr. Roberts credits the 2002 movie for bringing excitement and relevancy to a wide demographic, but promises the stage version will be even more emotional and intense. "It's the rare show that can bring together the generation that relates to the Jackson Five or James Brown, with their kids or grandkids who listen to top 40," says Roberts.

The current tour kicked off in the United States in January 2017 with additional performances in Japan and China throughout the remainder of the year.

This performance is made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
