OGDENSBURG SUMMER GARDEN TOUR

Ogdensburg Garden Club

The Ogdensburg Garden Club will sponsor a Summer Garden Tour on Saturday July 14 from 10 a.m. To 3 p.m. A total of seven gardens and one historic home will be featured. The tour will be held rain or shine and will cover gardens large and small from Ogdensburg to Morristown. Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased from any Garden Club member or at each garden on the day of the tour. Flower balloons will mark the garden sites. Light refreshments will be available at each garden

on tour, all proceeds go towards Ogdensburg's beautification projects.

Attendees will have the pleasure of viewing the one acre perennial garden of Meri and Michael Briggs, 19 County Route 28. There are many different varieties of hostas and lilies, a fountain, waterfall and fish pond. Also featured at this site will be Three Season Finds gift shop. The Market gardens, 102 Proctor Ave., Ogdensburg, are known for their wonderful array unusual plants and many varieties of roses. The gardens for all seasons slope to the St. Lawrence River and are a site to behold. The gardens and historic stone home of Joe and Shirley McDonald, No. Umberland St., Morristown will be

on the tour. The property boasts extensive natural gardens. Sandy Porter's city gardens, 723 Jay St., Ogdensburg, feature five large beds filled with perennials and some annuals plus overflowing flower boxes all around. Frank Putman, 1908 SH 37 between Morristown and Brier Hill, are eclectic with colors and textures changing week to week and featuring hanging baskets, roses in pots, beds of perennials, flowering shrubs and trees. Jeff Cline's gardens, 507 Proctor Ave., Ogdensburg feature perennial beds, flowering trees and shrubs and raised vegetable beds. The gardens of Luanne Herzog, 720 Pickering St., Ogdensburg, once a wild jungle of plants, has become a backyard paradise full of perennials of all varieties.
